DUGUIDE is an independent guide to Dubai, made by hand. These are the ground rules: who owns what on this site, what you may do with it, and what an account means. They apply to everyone who reads DUGUIDE; the privacy policy says what we do with your data.
Who owns the content
Every photograph, every description, every list on DUGUIDE is ours. The photographs were taken by us; the text was written by us after visiting or checking each place. They are protected under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 38 of 2021 on Copyright and Related Rights and by international copyright law. Each photo carries our copyright notice in its metadata and, where shown, a visible mark.
Names, logos and menus of the cafés, bars, restaurants and walks belong to their owners. We describe them; we do not claim them.
What you may do
- Read, share the link, save places to your account. Sending a DUGUIDE page to a friend is exactly what the site is for.
- Quote a sentence or two with a link back to the page — in a post, a message, a review.
- Copy a fact — an address, opening hours, a dish name — for your own use.
What you may not do
- Republish our photographs anywhere — a website, a social account, a listing, a print — without written permission. This includes cropping the mark off.
- Copy our descriptions, lists or rankings into another guide, app, dataset or AI training set.
- Embed our image files directly from duguide.ae into another page (hotlinking). Our server refuses these requests.
- Scrape the site or use it to build a competing product.
Want to use a photo or a text? Write to hello@duguide.ae. We often say yes to a credited use; we always say no to an uncredited one.
Your account
An account is free and optional. It exists to save places and write private notes. Keep your sign-in code to yourself; the notes you write stay yours, and you can delete the account — and everything in it — from your profile at any time.
What we promise, and what we do not
We check prices, opening hours and links by hand, and we tell you when we last did. They still change without telling us. Confirm before you go, and tell us when something has moved. DUGUIDE is a guide, not a booking service: we are not a party to anything you buy at the places we describe.
